Teoh Inquest: IO tells why death report not made immediately
SHAH ALAM: A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigating officer was instructed to report Teoh Beng Huat's death a day after the body was found on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam, the Coroner's Court here was told today.
Mohd Anuar Ismail, Selangor MACC acting senior superintendent, said he did not make a police report immediately after Teoh's body was found but instead went to the MACC office in Putrajaya to get further instruction on the matter from his superiors.
"I did not contact the police or lodge a report. There was panic upon seeing a body there. I quickly went down and I saw many people there. I informed Tuan Hishamuddin Hashim, the Selangor MACC deputy director, about the matter and sought further instruction," he said.
He said the deputy director instructed him and the MACC investigation unit head to go to the MACC office in Putrajaya for further instruction. - + selanjutnya
