Sand supplier jailed for a day for giving bribe


SHAH ALAM, Oct 23 (Bernama) -- A sand supplier was sentenced to a day's jail and fined RM30,000 or six months' imprisonment for bribing an enforcement officer of the Hulu Langat District Office as an inducement not to take action against him for illegally extracting, moving and selling sand six months ago.

Sessions Court Judge Mat Ghani Abdullah imposed the sentence on Lee Kui Sun, 49, from Jalan Kemboja, Taman Petaling Jaya, Semenyih, after he pleaded guilty to giving a bribe of RM5,000 to Norzaidi Ratiman at the Sungai Long Quarry, PN8602, Lot 7705, Mukim Hulu Langat, near here, at about 7.30 am on April 3. - + selanjutnya
