RM8.98 million . .wasted

KUALA LUMPUR: The traffic light camera system, used to catch red light offenders in the act, is poorly maintained and, in some cases, badly placed.

Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang said police management of the system, supplied by ROBOT Visual Systems GmbH of Germany, was unsatisfactory.

Bought between 1993 and 1995 for RM8.98 million, the system encompasses 40 working cameras, 110 dummy cameras, six film processors and six printers. The cameras were installed at 56 intersections in six cities. - + selanjutnya
