ROS decision to dissolve, de-register Balkis to be challenged
KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor government and nine others succeeded in getting a court order to challenge the legality of the Registrar of Societies’ decision to dissolve and de-register Balkis on Feb 11.
High Court (Appellate and Special Powers) Judicial Commissioner Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof granted their leave application on Friday, saying the applicants had sufficient locus standi to challenge the decision.
He also ruled that the matter was of public interest.
On May 4, the Selangor government, Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim and his wife Salbiah, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd and Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd sought a judicial review in a civil action to challenge the dissolution of Balkis (the Wives of Selangor Elected Representatives Association). - + selanjutnya
