Mosque bonus problem settled

IPOH: The state government has accepted the explanation that the delay in paying bonus to mosque and surau workers in Grik and Bagan Serai districts by the Religious Department was due to a technicality.

"We consider the case closed and it involved only two districts while other officials had received their bonus before Hari Raya," Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said at the Padang Rengas parliamentary constitutuency Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house here yesterday.

The department's director, Datuk Sheikh Mohamad Nor Mansor Al-Hafiz, had recently said the problem arose when there were more workers in the mosques and surau than the names on the official list. - + selanjutnya
