MIC suspends delegate who suggested slipper garland for Dr M
KUALA LUMPUR: The MIC has suspended with immediate effect the member who had suggested putting a garland of slippers on a photograph of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, said party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.
The delegate had made the suggestion during a debate at the MIC’s 63rd general assembly over the weekend.
“With the powers vested in me as the president under the MIC constitution, I have suspended the membership,” Samy Vellu said in a statement on Tuesday. - + selanjutnya
