Fotograf Lead Singer Shamrin Dies
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- The lead vocalist of rockband "Fotograf", Mohd Shamrin Abd Samad, 45, died of a heart attack at about 6pm Thursday at the Al-Islam Specialist Hospital in Kampung Baru here.
His friend, actor Shamsudin Maidin, said Shamrin fell while playing in a friendly football match between a group of artistes and an insurance company at Sultan Sulaiman Club earlier Thursday.
"Only 10 minutes after the game started, he raised his hand fell...we ran towards him and opened his shirt. His face was red when we took him to the hospital," he told reporters when met at the hospital.
The body was later taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post mortem and will be taken to his house in USJ 22, Subang Jaya for burial Friday.
Shamrin leaves behind four children from two marriages.
Shamrin and the band were popular in the 90s with songs like "Di Alam Fana Cinta" and "Kamu Aku Satu" which he sang with Datuk Sharifah Aini.
