Prince claims terror against Sultan
KUALA LUMPUR – In a shocking disclosure here, a Kelantan prince claimed his father and the Raja Perempuan of Kelantan were manhandled by armed men in balaclavas after a group of 30 to 40 intruders blocked their royal car outside the palace gates in Kota Baru, last Tuesday.
In an affidavit filed in support of a habeas corpus application to secure the release of the Sultan of Kelantan from the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian, Tengku Temenggong Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra said the incident occurred just as the ailing ruler was due to leave on a commercial flight for Singapore for a follow-up treatment.
This was the first habeas corpus application in the world to seek the release of a ruler of a state, said senior lawyer Param Cumaraswamy, who was present together with lawyers Gobind Singh Deo and Mohd Haaziq Pillay.[ lagi ]
