Umno man cleared of graft
MALACCA: Kampung Panchor Umno branch chief Johari Ibrahim was acquitted by the Sessions Court yesterday of giving a RM200 bribe in relation to the Alor Gajah Umno divisional polls on Nov 1 last year.
He was alleged to have given the money to Nadiah Roslan as an inducement to vote for Datuk Abdul Kadir Daud for the post of division chief.
Judge Elesabet Paya Wan said: "After looking at the facts of the case, the court finds that the prosecution has failed to prove a prima facie case against the accused."
She did not call Johari to enter his defence.- + selanjutnya
