Tian Chua...bite was like on a sugarcane

[...] Under current electoral laws, elected representatives who are jailed for a year or fined more than RM2,000 must vacate their seats.

The PKR strategic director claimed trial when he was first charged with the offence earlier this year .

During the hearing in April, a doctor testified that his bite on the constable’s arm could be likened to that of a bite on a sugarcane.

Dr Nurzilawati Ahmad, of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, who was the eighth and last prosecution witness in the case, said this when cross-examined by deputy public prosecutor Hanafiah Zakaria.

Hanafiah had given two examples - eating fried chicken and biting into sugarcane - and asked Nurzilawati which of the two would require more strength to bite into.

"Biting sugarcane would require more strength," said Nurzilawati.- + selanjutnya
