Bar Council urges Govt not to drop Lingam case

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Bar Council has expressed its disappointment over the Government’s decision to take no further action in the case involving the “Lingam video clip,” especially when the 2008 Royal Commission of Inquiry into the clip had verified its authenticity.

In a press statement issued Wednesday, Bar Council president Ragunath Kesavan said that the Royal Commission’s findings were “resonant of the dark days of the 1988 judicial crisis,” which saw the suspension and eventual removal of the Lord President of the Supreme Court, Tun Salleh Abas, as well as the suspension of other judges.- + selanjutnya
