Umno's pick must enjoy grassroots support, says analyst
SEREMBAN: The Barisan Nasional must not only win the Bagan Pinang state seat next month but also do so with a convincing majority to regain the trust and confidence of the people.
Merdeka Centre analyst Ibrahim Suffian said BN was faced with double the task compared with the opposition as it had to focus on not only retaining the seat but also garnering a bigger majority.
"All eyes are on Bagan Pinang and BN's performance here could well be an indication of what to expect in the next general election.
"While fielding Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad may not seem like a good idea, it could well be BN's only option to ensure a convincing performance." - + selanjutnya
