Karnataka minister, Halappa resigns over rape charges
Karnataka food and civil supplies minister Hartal Halappa resigned today after a report in a local paper alleging that the minister sexually assaulted his friend's wife four months ago.
The minister Hartalu Halappa, at his news conference, has announced that he has voluntarily decided to tender his resignation and has already faxed his resignation letter to the Chief Minister in order to ensure that the Government’s image was not tarnished. ``This is a political conspiracy to tarnish my and government’s image,” he said.[ lagi ]
