Econs advisor Anwar starts cracking


SHAH ALAM - Anwar Ibrahim started work as Selangor's economic advisor with a closed-door meeting with key officials here on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting he said he will help Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and support his decisions to spur the state's economy.

"I will assist in terms of getting more investments, consultation and working out ways to expedite the approval process so we can generate income faster," said the parliamentary Opposition Leader whose appoinment has been critcised as a 'political gimmick' by his opponents.

Anwar said he believed the Selangor economic stimulus package is good for the people, commending Khalid and his state executive councillors for "doing a good job."- + selanjutnya
