Azman Noh freed of corruption charge


IPOH, Wed: Azman Noh, who was suspended as Beruas Umno vice-head after being charged with corruption at the divisional election in October last year, was today acquitted and discharged by the Sessions Court of the charge.

Judge Teh Azihani Teh Azman, in handing down the decision, said the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against Azman.

Azman, 42, was charged with giving a RM300 bribe to a delegate of the Sungai Ramai Umno branch, Ayer Tawar, during the Beruas Umno divisional election on Oct 12 last year.

He won the vice-head post during the election. - + selanjutnya
