UMNO encourages young generations to join party - Muhyiddin

KUCHING, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Umno will encourage more leaders and those from the young generations to join the party to spur its struggle, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

Muhyiddin, who is Umno deputy president, said the matter would be among issues to be discussed at the Umno General Assembly next week in which the party would also table amendments to the party's constitution.

"Our efforts to transform and bring changes to the party will begin with the tabling of motion to amend Umno constitution," he told reporters after launching the national-level National Language Month here today.

He said that a large number of delegates from the Youth, Wanita and Puteri movements would give a wider space for the younger generations to play a role in rejuvenating Umno so that the party remained relevant. - + selanjutnya
