KUALA LUMPUR: A retired policeman was freed of a charge of raping a mentally retarded woman because the court held she was a willing partner.

Sessions Court judge Datuk Anita Harun said that when the alleged rape victim gave her evidence, she answered questions clearly and did not appear to be afraid.

Anita also said that each time she had to identify the accused, she smiled.

"It is my finding of fact that the alleged victim was willing to have sex with the accused. This is proven by the fact that the victim continued to patronise the accused's grocery shop and continued to have sex with him, and only stopped when the third prosecution witness (the woman's sister) found that she was pregnant." - + selanjutnya
