No Raya joy as family makes do with tent
GEORGE TOWN: While others are feasting and visiting relatives and friends or receiving Hari Raya Aidilfitri visits, for one family there is nothing to celebrate.
Abdullah Salleh and his wife Noor Aidah Abdullah and their two children 3-year-old Mohd Fitri Izman Abdullah and 1-month-old Mohd Iman have been living in a tent in a vacant field in Bandar Baru Air Itam since June.
They survive on the RM200 a month they receive from the Welfare Department and the occasional help from a relative of Noor Aidah in Tanjung Tokong when they run out of money.
"I used to be a security guard at an apartment complex in Batu Ferringhi," said Abdullah yesterday, "but I lost my job nearly a year ago. - + selanjutnya
