Make SD, Rohaizat urged
BUTTERWORTH: Barisan Nasional candidate Rohaizat Othman has been advised to make a statutory declaration in defence against allegations hurled at him over his disbarment.
Umno deputy president and Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he had asked Rohaizat to consider making the declaration to explain the actual situation.
“The move is important as it would prevent others from distorting related statements,” he told a press conference yesterday.
Bar Council secretary George Varughese said Rohaizat, who is Barisan’s candidate for the Permatang Pasir by-election was struck off the roll of advocates and solicitors on March 7 last year after he was found guilty of misconduct. - + selanjutnya
