Residents' Association fed-up over 'inaction' of Klang councillor
"NOT responsible, not proactive and not helpful." Those were the words uttered by members of a residents' association against a councillor.
The Taman Sungai Jati Residents' Association in Klang is furious and disappointed with councillor Mohd Termizi Ismail for his inaction on their complaints.
Association chairman T. Desmond said they had highlighted their problems many times but nothing had been done.
"The residents here are unhappy with the night market as it contributes to various problems such as haphazard parking. The night market closes two of three entrances to the neighbourhood and the one entrance that is not closed is always blocked due to reckless parking.
"Besides that, the roads in the area are also bad with potholes everywhere. As for the football field, the goalposts have fallen and not been replaced...We have highlighted all these issues to the councillor but nothing has been done," said Desmond.
Malay Mail contacted Termizi yesterday but got a shock when he said he did not know where exactly Taman Sungai Jati was located.
However, after we explained the situation, Termizi said: "We are aware of the night market and are monitoring the situation. We will look into all the previous complaints and we will try to solve it within 14 days if it does not require funding."
"If it does, it will take some time," he added.
A check by Malay Mail revealed that Taman Sungai Jati has some 500 houses, one football field and one night market that opens every Tuesday.
A signboard carrying it's name is also placed at the entrance by the Klang Municipal Council. - malaymail
