Ex-security officer sues the police

IPOH: A former security officer at an entertainment outlet filed a suit against the police at the Sessions Court yesterday for assault which left him paralysed.
Mustafa Kamal Hassan, 49, from Kampung Kepayang here, named Ipoh police chief, Perak police chief and the government as defendants.

He is claiming general and special damages, nursing care amounting to RM2,000 a month, loss of income up to RM1,100 a month, exemplary and aggravated damages, interest, costs and other relief.

Mustafa, who moves around with the aid of a walking stick, claimed that he suffered serious injuries which left him paralysed on the left side of the body and he had lost his job. - NST
