Guan Eng knocking on Federal door over PORR, no one answers

PENANG, Sept 8 — The Penang Government is still waiting for feedback from the federal government on the Penang Outer Ring Road (PORR) project.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the state government had sent a few letters to the federal government and the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) but had yet to receive any response.

“We have written to them (federal government) some time ago, followed by a reminder recently,” he told reporters after handing over ‘duit raya’ to the police and Armed Forces here today.

He said the main concern was to look after the best interests of the people in Penang.

Meanwhile, Lim said the state government was planning to propose a new law to give power to the government to declare the state’s heritage site for preservation. — Bernama
