Govt move to strike out defamation suit by Chin Peng to be heard Sept 30
KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has set Sept 30 to hear an application by the Government to strike out a defamation suit filed by former Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) secretary-general Chin Peng and other members.
If the court dismisses the Government’s application, the court would proceed to hear the merits of the suit on the same day.
Deputy registrar Nazri Ismail set the date in his chambers after an-hour meeting with Senior Federal Counsel Amarjeet Singh, Federal Counsel Wan Roslan Wan Ismail, who acted for the Government and lawyer Chan Kok Keong who reprresented the plaintiffs. - + selanjutnya
