Truce called in Terengganu Umno
KUALA TERENGGANU: A “Ramadan truce” has been called between the rival camps in Umno here.
Six of the 10 state assemblymen opposing Mentri Besar Ahmad Said have apparently agreed to make peace with him while the remaining four will do so after the Hari Raya celebrations.
The truce will bring an end to an 18-month feud which even saw a plan to table a vote of no-confidence against Ahmad during state legislative assembly proceedings early this year.
The six assemblymen met state Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Hishamuddin Tun Hussein at his office in Putrajaya and agreed to call for a truce for the sake of solidarity in Terengganu Umno.- + selanjutnya
