Court grants stay on ROS decision to deregister Balkis
KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has granted a stay on the Registrar of Societies decision to dissolve and de-register Balkis (Wives of Selangor elected representatives association) on Feb 11.
However, the court allowed Kompleks Wawasan Balkis to continue its operations.
The complex, a charity centre for children, is managed by Bakti (the association of wives of ministers and deputy ministers).
On Sept 11, the Selangor government and nine others were granted leave to challenge the legality of the ROS decision to dissolve and de-register Balkis.
The applicants sought leave for an order to quash the ROS’s decision in dissolving Balkis, a declaration that the decision was null and void, and to reinstate its registration, among others. - + selanjutnya
