Ka Siong under fire over PKFZ issue

GEORGE TOWN: MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong has come under fire from grassroots members on his inconsistent statements over the Port Klang Free Zone controversy.
A Youth leader from Kedah is questioning why Dr Wee had initially denied having any links to Bintulu member of parliament Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who owns Wijaya Baru Sdn Bhd, the main development company of the PKFZ, only to reveal last week that a company he founded, Hijau Sekitar Sdn Bhd, had in fact worked for the latter.

Lau Hock Chai, who heads the MCA Merbok division Youth wing, said the conflicting statements had raised doubts about Wee's integrity as well as fuelled speculation on his involvement in the scandal.

"Although Wee has clarified that he had divested a major portion of his shares in the company since becoming a deputy minister last year, it appears that he is trying to sidestep the issue at hand here, which is his relationship with Tiong."[ lagi ]
